ITINERARY

6 Days | 5 Nights Biking Safari to Ngorongoro Crater

Day 1: From Moshi to the Western Part of Mount Kilimanjaro (64km)

Olpopongi Maasai

After taking your breakfast, your ride takes you from the southern side of Kilimanjaro heading to the west side which is more arid of mountain Kilimanjaro. You will pass through banana plantations and coffee trees while heading to the west side of Kilimanjaro which has got arid open plains with acacia woodlands. These plains support a variety of animals with food and water which is a remarkable place for wildlife with a wonderful view of mountain Kilimanjaro. On your way, you will see a lot of animals and your ride will be comprised of a dirt road & tarmac road and you will end your cycling at the Olpopongi Maasai village where you will your dinner and night

Day 2: From the West of Mount Kilimanjaro to Arusha (83km)

Carnivore hotel

Today’s cycling will be a long one because you will cycle from the west of mountain Kilimanjaro heading to Arusha city. During this trip, cyclists must know that it is a hot and dusty day a head so, they should come with lighter clothes plus sunglasses. You will pass via Ngasurai open plains which is a path for migratory elephants from Amboseli national park in Kenya. You should know that it is a hot and dusty day a head so you should come with lighter clothes. After finishing the dirt road, you will join the tarmac road which heads towards Arusha city. During your second section, you will pass through small villages where you will see mountain Meru along the way. After reaching in Arusha, you will divert through a coffee estate heading to your hotel for dinner and overnight at Carnivore hotel.

Day 3: From Arusha to Tarangire National Park (102km)

Roika Tented lodge

Today, you will cycle the longest distance but again it is not the toughest since you ride on a tarmac road and this trip will take you through open plains, towns plus villages. After finishing the tarmac road, you will join the dirt road which will take you straight to your camp on the border of Tarangire national park. You will spend your dinner and the night at Roika Tented lodge where you will find a swimming pool to cool off from sun day trip.

Day 4: From Tarangire to Lake Manyara (74km)

Migombani

Today, you will be an exciting day since you cycle through migratory wildlife which is in between two parks Tarangire national park and lake Manyara. This area has got plenty of wildlife and the first section takes you back to the main road which is tarmac following it for a few kilometers then divert to a dirt road towards lake Manyara. On your way to lake Manyara, you will pass through a beautiful Great Rift valley in front of you and then connect to a dirt road which will take you to Migombani tented camp where you will have dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Lake Manyara to Ngorongoro Crater (43km)

Ngorongoro farm house

This will be your final ride but also the toughest one not only that, but also the most rewarding one. Your ride begins on a dirt road but then you will ride back on a tarmac road where you will pass through Mto wa mbu town plus the entry gate of lake Manyara. After passing the entry gate, you will proceed on a very tough cycle up the Rift Valley Escarpment leaving behind a spectacular backdrop. When you are almost reaching to the top of Escarpment, you stop to catch a breath at the view point while overlooking to the beautiful national park. At this point, you will have a chance to take some selfies and pictures and then you will proceed on a tarmac road heading towards Ngorongoro national park. Today’s ride will end at the entry gate of the park making it the end of your biking tour. Our driver guide will come and pick you to take you to Ngorongoro farm house where you will celebrate your victory of completing a 6 days’ challenge while toasting champagne.

Day 6: From Ngorongoro National Park to the Airport

In the morning after taking your breakfast, you will drive to Karatu to the game park where you will spend the whole day on a game drive. Our driver guide will take care of you throughout the day and then in the evening, he will drive you back to Moshi to your hotel to rest and then the rest, he will drive you back to the airport to take your flight back home.
