ITINERARY

Day 1: From Moshi to West of Mountain Kilimanjaro (64km)

Olpopongi Maasai

After taking your breakfast, your ride takes you from the southern side of Kilimanjaro heading to the west side which is more arid of mountain Kilimanjaro. You will pass through banana plantations and coffee trees while heading to the west side of Kilimanjaro which has got arid open plains with acacia woodlands. These plains support a variety of animals with food and water which is a remarkable place for wildlife with a wonderful view of mountain Kilimanjaro. On your way, you will see a lot of animals and your ride will be comprised of a dirt road & tarmac road and you will end your cycling at the Olpopongi Maasai village where you will your dinner and night.

Day 2: From West of Kilimanjaro to Longido (59km)

After taking your breakfast, you will start your journey to Longido where you will ride 9km towards Enduimet on Ngasurai gate and here you will ride on the wildlife corridor on an adventurous road towards Longido town where you will spend your night and dinner.

Day 3: From Longido to Kitumbeine (50km)

Mountain Kilimanjaro

After having your morning breakfast, you will start your bike tour today passing through Kitumbeine village and on your way, you will hit hills but commonly it is flat section. During the journey, you will meet with the Maasai people towards your resting point where you will enjoy a hot lunch. After lunch you will continue with biking towards Kitumbeine village where you will spend your dinner and overnight.

Day 4: From Kitumbeine to Lake Natron (80km)

Maasai Giraffes camp

This is an amazing trip among others and it is unique because you start your journey on unpaved road which cut west across from Kitumbeine to Lengai. The roads are in a poor condition so you will be praising your front suspension so, it is worth the effort and the amount of cycling today will depend on the condition of the road. You will have a mixed cycling and driving towards Oldoinyo Lengai to lake Natron. Something will not change like passing through a dry open plain with Gilai, Kermasi and Kitumbeine mountains in the distance. After having your lunch, you will cycle towards lake Natron which is often colored bright pink or deep red due to algae. The temperature here is about 40 degrees with a similar acidity to ammonia. After reaching at your camp, you will have to cool yourself in the swimming pool.

Day 5: From Natron to Engaruka (58km)

After taking your morning breakfast, get to know that it is going to be a long day because you leave Natron behind you and start climbing the valley walls of the Rift Valley Escarpment. You will bike on a flat ground with the randomly river that come from the slopes of mountain Oldoinyo Lengai while having a great view of lake Natron. The place is a bite challenging so if you find it difficult, our support vehicle will be always available to carry you.

Day 6: From Engaruka to Migombani (57km)

Migombani tented camp

Today also will be tough and long day cycling from Engaruka village to Mto wa mbu but don’t worry about it because our support vehicle will be behind of you to give you support. After having your lunch, you will continue with your journey to Migombani tented camp where you will end your today’s trip. You will have a small celebration while having dinner and then you sleep.

Day 7: From Migombani to Ngorongoro Crater (66km)

After having your breakfast, you will have your final trip which is a little bite challenging but very rewarding. You will start journey on a dirt road and then after some kilometers, you will connect to the tarmac road which will take you to the entrance gate of Lake Manyara national park. You will have your lunch and rest for a while and then continue with your journey to Ngorongoro conservation area. You will through the park towards the end point of your trip. After reaching your camp, you will have a celebratory toast of champagne of your achievement and then later drive back to your hotel in Moshi. After having a rest, you will be transferred to the airport to take your flight back home.
